Question Another new Disco owner! Doesn't run yet

Hello, I just bought a 96 Disco, hoping to have it up & running soon! I'm thinking the guy that sold it me wasn't completely up front! It won't start. He said all it needed was a fuel pump, which my son replaced but it still won't start.
I'm anxious to get it going. If anyone has any advice I'd love to hear it!
Thanks, I'm looking forward to learning a great deal from this forum!

Welcome. You'll get better tech info posting in a regular part of the forum. Shop manuals are in the download below, called the RAVE. Quick test is pull spark plug wire and put a spark plug (new or used) in it, lay on manifold, crank truck and some one watch for sparks. If no sparks most likely crank position sensor ($70 and 2 hours). If sparks OK test for fuel at valve on passenger side fuel rail, looks like tire valve. Makes 30 - 34 PSI when pump is running. Fuel pump only runs for a couple of seconds if truck does not start. Post your results back in the main part of the forum and you will be running in no time.

Sounds like we're in about the same boat! I just picked one up too. I'm locked out of it and the previous owner believes it's the starter. We'll see! Good luck with yours!
