Default Considering RRS Diesel

Greetings from Chicago (suburbs).

I just joined up to research the LR/RR brand. My last 2 vehicles were Volvo XC90 V8 and VW Touareg and am considering upgrading to a lightly used RRS diesel.

I have a friend who just got into a 2013 RRS (Petrol). If your looking to get one second hand, IMHO make sure it doesn't have any leaks. His RRS possibly has a bad sunroof gasket and has spent just under a grand trying to chase down the leak with the folks at the JLR dealership. First they replaced the windhshield cowl, and dropped the headliner to look at the lines and couldn't find anything. Water only ingresses during a hard rain or at highway speeds. It's a 'common' issue with several Rovers, and fairly well documented. I personally wouldn't buy another LR unless it was from carmax. I'd also spring for the 6 year warranty...unless your looking to get a little dirty, or your pockets are deep.
