I am new to this site, and LR's too.

My series I has got a problem with its central locking, the Haynes manual is very vague!

Can anyone give me some pointers please?

1; does it work off a key fob only, or does the drivers door actuate it with the key?
2; any decent schematics that I can follow, and locations of the various parts?

I dont know how to fix it, but yes, the central locking goes off of the drivers door.....if you have the door closed and you push the lock down, then ALL doors will lock, and if you pull up ALL doors unlock....you cannot lock the door if it is open (to prevent you from locking keys inside) so you have to use the key to lock down the drivers door to lock all the doors---or use the FOB which i think just locks the drivers door and this subsequently controls all the others....

i do not know the schematics, i hate electronics....
