Disco noob in UT
Well, my wife's RRS SC sold me one wanting a Rover of my own.
So I decided it was time to give in to my long term desire for a Disco. It's an '01 SE7 and will most likely remain stock and be a kid/dog/grocery hauler as I've got a Wrangler Rubicon for serious trail work.
It has the typical stuff to sort out, but a solid engine and was last enthusiast owned, so it should be a good machine. It already had to prove itself (despite the CEL and 3 Amigos lit the whole 500 mile journey home) by going through white out conditions crossing Interstate 80 (even had to sleep in the truck as the road was closed) back to UT from CO. I'm pretty sold on the K02s for snow work as despite having no TC or ABS, I didn't have any issues.
I love the panoramic view out of it and it is a very nice ride out on the road.

In my years long research penchant of these things, this was one of the forums I've learned the most from, so I figured now that I have one, it's time to be productive...

Yeah, it was pretty wild.
My second fuel stop and was told where the road was closed.

It got too thick after going 30 MPH for around an hour due to visibility (in an 80 mph zone) and decided it was kinda dumb and pulled over and slept in a parking lot with a bunch of tractor trailers.

I got rewarded with this the next morning when light broke.

All things considered, looks like it worked out pretty good for you. It's not often you get presented with a perfectly timed test from Mother Nature. :-) What's that app you're running on the dash? Looks pretty informative.
It did, and although I didn't even bother to check the weather, I brought a sleeping bag and a number of layers and had water and food. This wasn't my first rodeo (although most of that stuff I've done on bikes over the years).
The data is OBD Fusion. I'm sadly entrenched in the Apple ecosystem, and this is a good one for iOS. I'm just using WiFi into a generic OBD dongle. For the trip I focused on coolant temp, battery voltage and even got instant economy. I got some O2 sensor data as well, but focused on the health of the engine for the drive. I really want to see if I can get oil pressure or temp as well. Definitely worth the $20 or $30 total I've got invested.

Very cool. I have a Autel OBDII scanner with a corded plugin but the thought of having it transmit while driving is appealing, especially during the early days of driving and unknown vehicle. Did you go the WiFi route so it wouldn't tie up Bluetooth for other stuff? Do you have a preferred WiFi scanner? The OBDLink one in WiFi seems to have mixed reviews. The Bluetooth ones seems to have more favorable ratings.
No worries. I didn't do BT as the iOS devices don't seem to play well that way. I figure out on the road, I'm not looking for WiFi networks, so it's not a big deal. I run it on the iPad usually and leave the phone for comms and such. Sometimes I'll toggle to GPS, but generally just leave this up if I know where I'm going.
