Default Doing a cannonball into the deep end of the Land Rover pool

After a lifetime of practical, sensible vehicles I'm making My Last Ride a Land Rover. 1979 Series III, nearing the end of frame-off restoration by some artists in San Diego. Hope to have it by September. (before pic)

I plan to make it my everyday ride, replacing a five year old MINI. No long trips, just around town. I know nothing about Land Rovers (if you don't count the hundreds of hours of restoration **** I've been watching on YouTube) so I have a million questions. (Is there a Stupid Newbie thread here?)

I'll spend some time reading earlier posts before asking questions.

PS: Is there a special area in the forum for vintage LRs?

Welcome. That will certainly make a splash in the pool! Looks like the "series" Rovers are in the "Other" section of the vehicle line-up. Seems a bit degrading to me considering...

Thank you, Jerry. I'll head over to OTHER.

I work at bed, bath and beyond. I'm in the beyond department.

I would think that freelanders would be in the 'other' department and not Series! Regardless of where you fit in, thank you for joining the forum and for posting photos of your time machine. I look forward to seeing more photos as it comes along. Welcome!
