Engine Swap Advice
Hey all, I figure you're the people to help me out here...
I've been given the unfortunate news that my head gaskets are blown and I have a lower end rod knock which means my rod bearings are bad on my 2000 LR Disco II (225K mi). Baisically, the top and bottom of my engine are toast, and I've put at least 50k mi on the engine with the knocking. This isn't something I have the ability to address myself at the moment due to a severe lack of time, tools, and know how. I'm also not deperate to get this fixed immediately, but I do intend to do so.
From what I can tell, the best thing to do is do an engine swap rather than a rebuild (both would be done by a shop and the swap should be much cheaper). Should I source another Bosch 4.0 L (either low mileage or rebuilt) and have a shop drop that in or have them do the LS swap? In either case, where are the best/most trustworthy places to source an engine from? Also if any of you've had to do something like that recently, what was the total cost and are you happy with how it came out? Any other advice is appreciated.

I am also curious which engine to look for that would better suit the Discovery 2. I've heard the original engine is problematic for the Discovery 2 model, and I have a leaky head gasket. Im more willing to do an entire engine swap if it is a viable option.
