Default Finally a Land Rover Owner (03 disco)

Hi All,
I've been looking at LR's and RR's for years. Eventually set my sights on 04 Discovery's, but ended up buying an 03 SD 7. I own it, but haven't seen it in the flesh yet. It's still in NC awaiting shipping down here to St. Croix, USVI. It is in pretty great condition by all accounts with low miles and service records. It's the light green color I was looking for, good for down here in the tropics, and has the sunroofs I wanted. Only known issue is codes for the SAI system but I've read hundreds of pages here on every imaginable topic and know exactly what my diagnosis steps will be once I have it here on-island. I'm a fairly adventurous do it yourself type so I'm not dissuaded by maintenance and troubleshooting. I think there was a pretty good owners group down here on STX at one point so I'll need to track them down once my baby arrives. I was also bloody relieved to find out my vin is outside any bad oil pump issue. And yes, I've already ordered an ultraguage so I can watch those temps!

Anyone have any factory crossbars going cheap let me know

Thanks,
Scott

Well it arrived on-island today. Road tax paid. Permit paid. Insurance paid. But I have to wait until tomorrow for customs to inspect and value before I can formally clear it in and register it.

Almost ready to start checking the SAI system faults!

A bad case of premature excitement.

Some clown left my LR D2 on the docks in San Juan because the boat from there to St Croix was too full. One more week to wait

Well for now you'll have to make do with a pic of my current ride - The BEAST - a 97 Ford Explorer. (Not counting the 05 NISMO the wife seems to have claimed that I still get to drive occasionally, and my 09 KLR650.)

Default Finally Home!

Here she is. Finally on island. Was a bit cloudy yesterday pm so not the best pic.

Only two surprises. Firstly no sunroofs - bit of a communication issue with the Mrs - but that's ok as I don't have to worry about drains/leaks/repairs. Secondly some ******** (probably in PR while it sat on the docks for a week) pulled the fuel cap off and siphoned the tank. Wouldn't be too much of a problem, except they tossed the cap!

Fortunately, thanks to researching this site, I know any regular non-venting cap will work. I'm sure one of the local shops on island will have one - Yea Right!
