Got my Safari 5000 lamps today. Now hopefully I will have a Discovery by Saturday evening this comming weekend. I will know more as the week progresses. If it works out the way I want it to, I will have a 1998 dark green Discovery V8I. She is farily plain in the acc. dept with only the factory fog lamps. Stuff to be added will be a brush guard to hold those new lamps, tail light guards and the ladder on the rear door. For now the lamps are on my 98 Grand Cherokee so I can play with them and see how that size of a spot lamp looks on it. The size looks good so a pair of Hella Rallye 1000 lamps will be purchased for it.I had always though the Safari 5000 lamps were made by Hella for LR, but nope, its a ZKW lamp. Strange choice of provider, I wonder if the lense/reflector from a Jeep TJ fog lamp will fit in there, its the same brand lamp, just a slightly different housing.My fingers are crossed for Saturdays road trip over to Ohio to trade for this Disco. The first Disco we looked at, a 1998, had to many major issues for the asking price. Since it lacked many of the outside toys I wanted, we passed on that one. Found a nice white one, 1996 model year, has all the toys I want, ie factor front brush guard, fog lamps, rear tail light guards, rear ladder. I think I can get it real cheap. Its a southern truck so its super clean, no rust anyway, rear door jams are clean, alpine windows are clean, jump seats have never been used. Its a SE7 model, with tinted windows, sunroofs. Interior is super clean. Has 124k miles on it. Needs tires and a couple of minor interior trim pieces fixed. I am looking for a nice used switch and the matching plug for it, for my safari 5000 lamps. I can fab up the rest of the harness if I have the switch. I have a question for new tires, but I will post that seperatly. Cheers Mike
