Greetings From Snowy Minnesota
HI all,
Paul here in Edina, MN (a Minneapolis suburb).
I've had my '98 Discovery LSE since it was new and love it!
A picture will be coming soon.
I'm not sure why it took so long to get here, guess I've been too busy driving but I'm glad I found you all.
During the last 14 years I've had very little go seriously wrong with this vehicle. While still under warranty I had the rear dif replaced and just a few other odds and ends. Since then the steering box started leaking, I just keep it topped off though it has made quite a mess of the lower left EC area. I have replaced numerous switches and the rear door hinges and two water pumps. The transfer case also leaks but like they say "It's a Land Rover, it leaks. If it quits leaking it's empty". Last spring I blew a head gasket and parked it in the garage, with estimates of $3,000+ for a shop to do the repair I decided to take it on myself when I had the time, which didn't happen until recently. I just dropped the heads off at the shop this morning.
The information I have gotten from all of the threads on this subject have been great.
Thank you to all who have posted and replied with your words of wisdom.
Looking forward to reading more of everybody's posts and giving my own updates.
