hello all
Okay, here goes.....I live in Shreveport, Louisiana, in the northwest part of Louisiana, not the hurricane prone southern part. It is more like east Texas here than a part of Louisiana. My Disco is a 2002 that I bought in 2004 with 59,800 miles. It currently has about 80,300. I don't want to jinks myself, but this Rover is flawless, not problems, never, of any kind. Well, if you don't count the trail abuse I did myself. I've wheeled it in Texas and Arkansas. During a club run in May, without my wife to reign me in, I got a little enthusiastic and sorta, kinda did some bad things to the Disco. Front and rear bumpers were mangles and missing, right front fender was dented and torn, D pillar on the drivers side was dinged a bit. Cried real tears when I realized what I had done. Mustered the courage to call the insurance company and they agreed to repair all the damage. So I took off the lift and other offroad stuff and had the body shop make it look nice again. This Rover is my daily driver and a source of pride for me and I maintain it meticuously.
Now it won't be wheeled anymore, but its okay. My wife has a Jeep Grand Cherokee that she hates. We think it would be a good trail beater so I'll build it a bit and wheel it. While I drive my newly repainted and repaired Disco in comfort with a big smile on my face.
My family, all into wheeling, are: Me, my wife, and three daughters aged 9, 6, and 3. The 3 year old actually loves to wheel and went with me on my last club run. When I got home and told my wife what I'd done, I blamed my 3 year old for rooting me on and encouraging me to keep up with the bigger rigs. It didn't fly.
