Default Hello all! Wish to buy a used LR, any tips?

Greetings! I hope this forum is suitable for my thread. I would like to buy a Land Rover and it will be my first one. I was wondering if anyone had input, tips, or recommendations they wouldn't mind sharing with me. I'm considering a Discovery or a Defender. Most likely the former though. I'm excited to step up to a LR and any info would be much appreciated.

Default Thanks!

Thanks hilltoppersx!

The thread was very useful. One of my questions was what kind of problems do they encounter and if they are expensive to fix seeing as how they are not domestic vehicles. The thread did a great job answering those.

Just to avoid getting egg on your face, if you find one you really like and it's running a little rough but the engine warning light is not on. Get the codes read on it to make sure that the person did not take the gauges apart and put a piece of electrical tape over the warning light. Also check the antifreeze and make sure it does not sparkle. That would be a sign of stop leak.
Good Hunting.
