Hello from Ohio
Hi, I'm new here and new to Land Rovers. I picked up my 2005 LR3 in November 2019 when I was looking for a truck or SUV to drive in the winter, instead of having to drive my Audi S4 when the roads were covered in salt. I had never owned a LR product before but always liked them and this one popped up for sale just a few blocks from my house, so why not. It has high miles (186k then, 189k now), but I got it with recent service records going back a few years and the overall condition seems great for the miles, especially underneath, with no obvious signs of corrosion. Since owning, I've had to replace the alternator and IAT sensor connector and wiring (wires were split), which were both super easy jobs.
It's now giving me intermittent suspension faults (yellow light-normal height only, but never the dreaded red fault light), which is what led me here. I had a trusted local independent shop diagnose it for me and they said the compressor is on it's way out and will need replaced. So, now I have some decisions to make, which I will be posting in the LR3 forums for advice... I could sell it as-is to someone with full disclosure of the current situation, put a compressor on it and sell it, put a compressor on it and keep it and hope it doesn't need any number of other air suspension components replaced in the near future, or keep it and swap to shock/spring suspension.
This seems like a great forum with loads of knowledge... thank you!
