Default Hi Everyone from Dallas, Texas

Hello

I am new to the LR world. I just bought my first Land Rover this year. I luv my LR2, but the experience with the dealerships have not been great
The only two LR dealerships near me unfortunately is owned by the same people, which motivates a monopoly on LR.
I am due for my 15K mi scheduled maintanence. The cost at the dealership is $525; is this over-priced
What is the average cost for 15k service on 2010 LR2 in the Dallas area
The dealership claim any maintanence service done on a LR, excluding the oil change, will void my LR warranty if the work is not performed at a dealership service center; is this true
Please help!

Over priced? Yes. Void warranty? That would be a good question for Disco Mike, a retired service manager, to answer.

That's pretty illegal.

Only if you do it to a lawyer's spouse. Double points if you gig the lawyer.

if the 15k service is done correctly they shouldn't be able to figure out if it was done anywhere else. except the missing service record. but they can't prove that you took it elsewhere.

"LR Corp. has no control over dealership pricing." Therefore, the dealerships can pretty much charge you any price if they have a monopoly. I better start saving up for my next tune up now, b/c it will be even more expensive.
I wish LR owners can become pro-active on calling LR Corp. to complain about being at the mercy of the dealerships.

I wish what you claim could be true, but nowadays, the electronic records at the dealerships is connected to LR Corp., so LR Corp. can see that you did not service your vehicle at a dealership throughout the US by electronically sharing records so any future warranty work needed is voided.

I just called a non-dealership LR service center who charges only $250 (instead of $525 dealership) for the 15k tune-up. According to them, they even "use full synthetic oil instead of the poorer quality synthetic blend used at the local dealerships."

I feel so sad and mad to become a victim of my two local LR dealerships
