Be sure to get a copy downloaded of the RAVE (factory manuals), and look through our tech section - lots of good articles on DIY fun things to do. Keep the Mark I eyeball on the temp gauge, and check things if it gets over 50% scale. With a 96 you should be able to use an Ultra Gauge, handy because it monitors things (like coolant temp), and reads and resets codes like a scanner. About $70.
