Default Introduction

Hi,

I recently acquired a '00 Disco 2 with a hole in the side of the transmission from a broken front drive shaft. The previous owner didn't want the hassle, so I made it my problem.

I am almost finished with the repairs, and looking forward to driving.

Thanks to everyone who has posted regarding transmissions, drive shafts, and transfer cases on this forum. You have provided me with a plethora of valuable information not mentioned in the RAVE manual.

Now, if anyone can tell me where all the oil is coming from that is coating the entire engine block. I am assuming that it is leaking from every gasket.

Regards,

Bob

Start with the simple stuff - valve cover gaskets - snug up with 8mm 12 point sockets. You can wash off the oil with GUNK or another degreaser, then see where it is coming from.
