Default Let me introduce myself...

I am a new member of the Land Rover family. I finally decided that a Jeep wasn't going to work for me anymore, so here I am, with my "new to me" '04 Disco.

I am usually a lurker, and know how to use the search feature. Sometimes the questions I may ask are not easily found, or out of the norm.

So if I step on any toes, I apologize in advance.

Thanks< SKK

I forgot to say, but I would like to meet some LR owners in SE Fla. I am not afraid of turning wrenches.

Be sure to download the whole set of shop, electrical, and owner's manuals, called the RAVE, free below. Run somethingX40 weight oil, many like diesel rated oil because of extra cleaning ability. If front propshaft does not have grease fittings, it can "chirp" before flying apart and poking a $5000 hole in transmission. Under $100 DIY rebuild shaft write up in the tech section.

UXO?

Thanks Savannah, I already have the RAVE, and have started to read the 1529 page tome. WOW, what a manual, is all I can say. Thanks for the tips. I have been lurking for a couple of months, and used alot of what is here to help me decide on a Disco.

My wife says she wants the disco and I can have her car instead... Not very likely.

1529 is just the work shop manual, another 1000 plus for electrical and circuits, then owner's manuals, entertainment, etc. Under general section "overhaul" manual. Fine Brit Lit for easy bed time reading.
