Default My New Project

I just purchased a 2001 Discovery. I didn't pay alot for it and, though I plan to drive it to work, I bought it primarily for off road play. Right now everything is factory stock, but I plan on several modifications including lift kit, taller tires, brush guard, and winch. I will update pictures and I'm sure I will have lots of questions.

Welcome. The RAVE is the factory shop manual set, free download below. The front prop shaft if oem may split and poke hole in transmission, rebuild info in our tech area. Don't trust dash heat gauge, it is programmed to point at 50% from about 130 to about 240F. Use a scanner or Ultra Gauge to see what is really going on.

Welcome to the addiction! Do what Savannah says, and be sure to browse the technical section as there's a TON of information about tire sizes, lift heights, etc. A scanner is an absolute must to pull inevitable trouble codes and to monitor engine temps. Be patient with your upgrades and you can find a lot of great deals in the classified sections - many parts and pieces available for the D2.
