New Disco Owner!!
Hello,
Fell into an unhealthy obsession with my 2004 Disco 2. She will idle all day long but overheats when driven. Yeah, that problem. Hoping I could get some advise as I am completely new to this. My question would be the pistons and heads look good and there’s no sign of a HG failure. The HG was replaced by the PO and the overheating returned after around 2k miles. After digging into the engine it’s obvious she wasn’t handled properly during the repair. Is it worth the gamble to throw on a new HG or stick w the plan for a new engine?
thanks to anyone who replies, the Rover community has been awesome.

Search for thread: "overheating 2000 Disco Series II TD5" in the Discovery II section (where this question SHOULD have been asked). There may be some help in there.
But, I would start by tracing your coolant process: lines, fittings, pump, radiator, etc. Could be it is just clogged up with something, and you are getting no coolant.
Good luck!
