Hello, I just picked up this 2001 Land Rover Discovery 2 LE for my daughter to drive back and forth to school when she turns 16 in November. Until then it will be my project. It's pretty clean but does have a couple of things I want to address. It has the 3 amigos which after a little digging on the webs looks like an easy fix if its just the shuttle valve or a wheel sensor. Also it doesn't have the rear bumper lights so I don't currently have blinkers. Im not sure if the wiring harness is still present tucked up under the rear bumper or not, I may need to pull it off as it is an aftermarket piece. I for sure will need the housings and lenses. Also I want to replace both of the rear left and right side bumper filler panels. One is cracked and the other has some broken tabs. The radio has been replaced with a Boss unit for Apply Carplay. Im not sure how I feel about the size just yet but me daughter approves of it so it may stay. Otherwise the engine bay is real clean. The oil was clean, the radiator looks newish like it was replaced and it definitely has new plug wires.
There is a rattling cat converter heat shield that looks like someone tried some no.9 bailing wire to fix. My plan is to tack weld it back on. Any problems with that? Any way, I'm sure you will be seeing a lot from me since I'm a total Land Rover newb with lots of questions. Thanks for having me.
