I've been learning a lot here, and thought I'd say hi and thanks.
After years of daydreaming, and an aborted try at importing a diesel D1...
meet Redneck Maria....Found her on CL in San Diego.
a 96 D1, 2" lift. Restored by Elias Christeas of worldprovenlr in LA,
who was amazing - he did a 90k service, replaced the seats.
Considering it had a few owners, and was apparently left to rot on the street
and later sold by the towing company, its been running great.
I'm a photographer, and mechanically-ignorant, and will surely ask idiotic questions - but sooo loving my Land Rover. Sometimes I just look at her, lol,
and definitely feel different driving in dense NYC traffic.
It's been a rough year, esp globally - so this Xmas I'm just gonna take long drives to nowhere, in the embrace of my Maria.
Will be adding running boards soon, and looking at pimping up the rather tired interior. also looking for a home mechanic shop.
