Been lurking for a while. Bought my Range Rover HSE back in 2007 and would not get rid of it for anything. It had 7,000 miles on it and was not even broken in. 78,000 miles and 2 sets of MTR's (which i hate goodyear for not making anymore) later still going strong. Love the look and feel of the Rovers.

Always wanted a disco to complement the RR. In Dec, found an 03 with 97,000 miles on it and it was in great shape and not in the vin death range. knew the problems with discos but went to the dealership and got the service records. a whole folder with about 50 pages of service that had been done. all major work had already been done including the head gasket service. nice relief. the previous owner took the truck in for everything, and paid for it dearly from the dealership. so I picked it up the next day.
two days after I bought it and after weeks of lurking here and reading all the posts from all you guys, i rebuilt the front driveshaft. i also switched to Mobil 1 full synthetic 10w-40 high mileage with Mobil 1 oil filter. (I read that is what Disco Mike uses, so if he uses it I should too.)
I want to thank everyone for the helpful information and especially Disco Mike. Wow his posts are the worth their weight in gold. literally.
I can't express how nice it is to have someone like him to offer his expertise and help to anyone.

Just wanted to say hello and look forward to becoming an active member here. Matt
