New to the Forum and the Disco Life
Hey everybody,
I go by Woody, and last month I bought a green 2000 Discovery II with 143k miles on it. A mechanically-inclined friend of mine (who is owed a lifetime supply of 6-packs) and myself brought it home with codes for misfiring in 1,5, and 7 as well as codes for running lean. On the positive side of things the previous owner had an OME lift installed and rebuilt the front driveshaft u-joints to be greaseable. Also, the heated seats work which is one heck of a creature comfort!
I resolved the vacuum leak causing the lean codes by replacing the fitting called "Intake Manifold Brake Servo Vacuum" on BA. This also cleared the misfires codes on all but 7. The aforementioned friend was kind enough to lend his garage to help guide me through rebuilding the top end with new gaskets and ARP studs. Fortunately the heads are not warped, but we could see carbon build up where the old gasket allowed 5 and 7 to mix. We just need to put it all back together this weekend, change out the fluids, and then it will be time to take it out into the great Coloradan outdoors. Once all of the repairs and maintenance are taken care of the next thing I would like to do is build or buy linkage for the CDL.
I look forward to my time here and sharing stories with all of yall!

I'm on the north side of Colorado Springs. I've got to get the truck back to operational, and then I would be game to wheel with some other disco owners!

As for the bumper I guess that's a perk of having the cheap model!
