As the title says, I've moved from BMW to LandRover and very much looking forward to it!

I sold my 2002 X5 4.4 with 125K miles on it and bought a 2008 LR3 with 74K on it. I'm very much enjoying the LR3, but so far, only on the road. Off road options are few and far between in the Northwest Burbs of Chicago.

A few observations incase anyone cares:

• The X5 is a highway vehicle, and NOT an off road vehicle. It cruises comfortably at 90.
• The LR3 is somewhat top heavy and things get a little scary over 80.
• The LR3 seats are at least as comfortable as the BMW's. In the front anyway...
• MUCH better cup holders!
• The BMW gets 25 mpg or more on the highway. The LR3 is comparable to my Grand Cherokee V8 at 18 or so.
• The LR3 is HUGE inside and has very good visibility.
• LR3 steering is very light and provides a very tight turning radius.
• Love the sound system.
• Everyone has an X5 or a Grand Cherokee. Only the cool kids have Land Rovers ;-)
• I'm still learning what all the buttons and levers do
• The V8 likes to rev and is way more fun in Sport mode, or when shifted manually.
• Every new noise sends me to Google to find out either a) they all to that or b) it will cost $x,000 to fix.
