I live on the Texas Gulf Coast and spend most of my spare time surf fishing. I just picked up a '99 Disco 1 to take my beach adventures to places my lifted Jetta couldn't go.
I actually picked this car up "locally" from a member, and immediately got to work. Despite not wanting to buy a project, this one just sucked me in.
So far I replaced the u-joints in the front axle, put on some 32" Milestar Patagonia M/Ts, added a rear ladder, bluetooth stereo, picked up an ultragauge and now I'm just waiting on parts. So many parts. As things arrive I'm doing a new exhaust from the y back, front axle and swivel ball seals, wheel bearings, pads and rotors, SS brake lines, oil cooler hoses, full fluid service, trans filter, valve cover gaskets, and replacing the beat 2" TF lift with a new one. Despite all of that it runs and shifts really well, has working cruise, AC, and heated seats, and is overall pretty good.
I look forward to the unique challenges that Rover ownership is sure to bring!
