Default New to the Land Rover game.

My name is Dave, I'm 31, married and have 3 kids... Me and my wife just traded our 1984 Corvette for our new 2001 Land Rover Discovery II (plus we got 1500.00).

Our Disco has 149K on it, very clean inside and out. By the looks of the engine it seems that the heads may have been off of it recently because they are SUPER clean... I know that head gaskets are notorious on these engines and I have sold many of them in the past 8 years.

The only thing this Disco needs is a pair of boots (e-brake and 4wd shifter), as well as a key and a RR fog circuit board. Also could use the "3 amigos" cleared

I ordered the circuit board, the boots and key I plan to get off of ebay.

For my profession I work at a Honda dealership as a parts consultant. Prior to that I worked at an Import car part store here in Michigan for the last 8 years.

I will post pictures of my Disco later/tomorrow...

Thanks for taking the time to read this. any and all info would be great.

You will find this a great forum. The technical section will list high miles service items, and lots of special fixes. Also, avail yourself of the RAVE down load, it is a free set of the tech manuals in pdf form; many members have this in their signature as below.

Welcome to the club fellow parts person!

If you don't need the OEM key with the built in fob, you can get a generic key cut by a locksmith.

Do a search for the "Three Amigos" on this forum, as well as checking the stickies. There are a few members that have purchased the ABS Amigo, and rent it to forum members for a nominal fee.

Also check the stickies for Mike's 60,000 mile service.
