New (to me) Series 1 Disco
Hello everyone, after losing my Volvo S60R to an inattentive idiot in a Ford, I decided to go British for a change.
Here's my new adventure buddy:

1997 Series 1 Discovery
Manual Transmission
Base trim level
116K miles
Apparent mods are an Old Man Emu lift, the cargo basket and the snorkel.
I'm a long time VW and Volvo guy, and this is my first attempt at things off-road. I have been poking through the maintenance and know-how and already want to thank you all for putting this info together.
Stupid questions to follow-

Welcome. The full shop manual set is called the RAVE, free download links below.
A 180F thermostat is suggested, you will find with a scanner connected that the coolant temps may be warmer than you would like. Anything above 50% on the gauge is overheating.

Well it's been a week or so, and I am settling into life with a Disco... So far I have been reading, tinkering, and learning all while experiencing mileage that I can only describe as freaking tragic (but expected).
That said, I think Imma gonna like having a Land Rover in my life.
I have been driving her daily whilst I rehab the front suspension on my Volvo 240, and have managed the following:
-Resealed the coolant reservoir
-Unstuck the diff lock
-Topped off the oil/brake/coolant
-Installed lights on the cargo basket (had them forever, it just seemed right)
-Rehabbed the sunken driver's seat with an entire roll of duct tape
Some pics:

Thanks again for being here. Knowledge is a wonderful thing!

Replace the coolant reserve container - if black it will crack and drop all coolant quickly. It is a pressure vessel, so subject to expansion, etc. from up to 18 PSI from cooling system.
