New member with clutch problems!
Hi new member here! I have been driving landrovers for a few years now, having own different types of the "Best 4X4XFar". I currently own a 1970 Series 11 LWB station wagon (very tired and rusty - but running regularly, just!) and a 1994 Classic Range Rover. I enjoy them to their full both on and off road and attempt to service and maintain them both myself. (therefore have constant oil stained finger nails and scuffed knuckles)
I am currently attempting to get to the bottom of the Rangies clutch problem.
The clutch failed while visiting relatives over Christmas - vehicle full of pressies children and irrate wife.
Initially it seemed to be master cylinder, as was leaking and reservoir was empty.
No problem I thought! So I popped to the local parts supplier and fitted service kit. Tried to bleed system - no pressure obtained!
Fair enough, I thought, it could have been the slave cylinder and the master cylinder could have just been leaking a little. Back to my friendly parts supplier and get myself a new slave cylinder. Now fitted (not too difficult). Tried to bleed the system but still cannot get any clutch pedal pressure
Perhaps I assembled the master cylinder incorrectly??? So... Off it came again and I reassembled it. No change.
I seems to me that I am not bleeding air out properly!?!
I have changed the master cylinders on my old series11 and series111 landrover prevoiusly with no problems.
Have I missed something out that is completely obvious?!?

Oh well, I am going leave it for 48hrs with the clutch fully depressed and see if it helps.
I seem to remember doing this with the hydraulics on one of my other Landrovers previouslyand it worked!!! However I think I had a little pedal pressure and I'm not sure if it was the brakes or clutch I was bleeding!?!
