New Land Rover owner here.

I have been looking for a winter DD with style for a while now. I really wanted a stick-shift, so when I found a 1995 Dico I with 5spd I jumped on it. It has been a little bit of a money pit so far as it needed tires, plugs/wires/rotor, and new injectors. Now my heater fan only works on high. Those things I knew about when I bought it. The thing I was not planning on is that the tranny is now noisey. I think there is a bad bearing on the secondary shaft as it is noisey in all gears except 4th.

Anyway, I really love this truck. It is a blast to drive. Hopefully I can stop fixing it so much soon.

 

A bad tranny in Saginaw - go figure... ought to be some shops around there that can help. Be sure you download the full factory tech manuals and owners manuals in the link below, they are called the RAVE.

 

Greetings from a fello Michigander. Good find (manual trans). I've wondered just how hard it would be to swap a stick for the auto. I think the budget will be well tapped keeping up with necessities rather than elective surgeries. Good luck with the new Disco.
