Default New Rover Dad in the Detroit area

I sold my hearse, but didn't have a vehicle to replace it with. I had it listed on craigslist and didn't think it would sell. I just bought it, but was looking for a little bit cleaner one. I sold it and made a little on the sale but didn't have a car to drive. I started looking for another hearse and some when I came across a land rover, I didn't buy it, but they were only asking 1700. I had no idea these sold for that price. after looking at as many rover as I could in a couple days, I found a 2000 land rover discovery 2 for 4500, I got it for 3500. It has no rust anywhere(most I seen had rust holes in the rear door frame), brand new 800.00 tires with reciept, 117,000 miles, dealer maintained, head gasket replaced at the dealership, drives like a new car, steering is tight, its super clean. Its way better than a jeep, and I love the vehicle. I'm looking for a roof rack and ladder if anyone is selling one. I have dual sunroofs.

Congratulations! Welcome to the forum. Sounds like a fair deal and having those service records is priceless. If your looking for a safety devices roof rack ( the safari style) they are rare to find and usually have a hefty price tag. You need to look at your records and Disco Mike's major service post and do whatever has not been done recently and get everything up to date. Also read about the front drive shaft failure and then check your to see if the drive shaft has grease zerks on all universal joints and 1 on the shaft itself so that would be 4 grease zerks or it is a stock drive shaft and needs rep as soon as you can afford to do it. Its not reliable and can break at anytime and cause significant damage.

Also enjoy the RAVE, the complete shop and owner manual package, free download at links below. Consider an Ultra Gauge to reset codes, monitor engine temp, etc.
