In the Discovery 1 section of the forum is the technical section, has many lists of things to do, and step by step info for common issues, things to look for on buying a Discovery, etc.

Link in my signature is the free download of the complete set of factory manuals, called the RAVE. Covers shop, electrical, body, owners, etc. In pdf format.

Units have well deserved reputation for overheating, which leads to/ caused by head gasket problems, warped heads, and the dreaded dropped cylinder liner can be the end result. How cheap? Lots of parts out there: dealer, parts stores, internet, dismantlers on this site, salvage yards. Alternators and radiators go first at the boneyard.

Speaking of Dodge with Cummins, the Cummins service manager near me (I have gen sets serviced there) says she has a customer with 800K on his pickup. Guess his girlfriend is in Key West or somethin'....
