Default oh boy!

Hi everyone! Just joined the forum and close to becoming an owner of a very nice 2006 LR3. Should know more on Monday regarding a couple of issues that I would like to have addressed before purchase but I am hoping that this will be the beginning of a wonderful (all be it love/hate) relationship.
It’s got 73K and in great shape save the air suspension fault message showing and a strong shimmy in the steering when braking. This truck was a trade in on another LR/RR so I presume that the previous owner was satisfied with the vehicle. I do understand that there may be some challenges involved but I do enjoy a challenge (knock on wood). Anyway – I’m looking forward to checking out the info on this forum and having some fun. Any tips for a “Noobie” are very welcomed.

-Charlie

see https://landroverforums.com/forum/lr...ghlight=manual to download the factory manual set for LR3. Or perhaps dealer will throw in a CD as a bump.

And welcome.

Just got rid of my beautiful Maia Gold LR-3 and glad to get rid of it! From the beginning I had nothing but trouble with the transmission, transfer case and rear differential and a ton of $$$$ after the warranty ran out. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it, had plenty of power, road like a dream (air suspension) and more buttons than a 747 to play with and went where ever you pointed it with no hesitation. I just got tired of putting money into something that was breaking down all the time and It.. only had 79,000 miles on it. I now have a 2001 Disc II and take it everywhere without it breaking down even with 160,000 miles on it. I may not have the 300 plus horsepower but you can’t drive that fast off road anyway. Good luck and welcome.
