Default Over to the Dark Side

Well I've done it, I've acquired a 1997 L/R Discovery. This is my first venture of owning one. Although I'm not unfamiliar with them. A few years ago I worked in a shop that repaired and restored vintage British autos. Anything from Midgets to Rolls Royces. I gained quite a bit of knowledge on some rather archaic vehicles. I did work on a couple of early Range Rovers.
What I discovered with my Disco is that it's not much different from one to the other. Add fuel injection and some fancy electronics and it's basically the same thing.
I glad I found this forum, it gives me a source of information that I didn't have available.

You will enjoy the RAVE, the factory shop manual; set, free download below. Stands for Rover Automated Viewing Environment; but I really think it means Rovers A'int Very Economical.

Wow! I've just looked it over and it's pretty comprehensive. I can see I need to put this on my Smartphone. Thanks for the tip.

Also new to the forum. Never even DRIVEN a LR before. Needed a new vehicle. Wife happened to see one, the price was right, so we snatched it up. 1997 LR Disco 124K miles. Needs lots of TLC, but I see the finished project in my head. I will be using this forum LOTS for reference/inspiration.

Thanks in advance!!!
