I've always been a jeep guy (and Jeepforum.com member), owning everything from CJ's, YJ's, XJ's and was about to buy a Commander (XK). I couldn't find an XK that I liked mechanically and stumbled upon the LR3 at a local BMW dealer. CarFax 1-owner with 78k trade in. Everything was solid, a couple minor things on the interior (seatback pockets have a couple tears) but overall a good truck. Made a deal and now I have my first Land Rover!

So far, very pleased. Probably won't be able to try out the 4x4 anytime soon. Plus, I need to get some new tires, recondition some of the oxidized trim pieces and learn more from all this good info on the forum.
