Hi Still wrestling with my conscience, Having bought not one but 2 series 3 landrovers.!981 and !977 After years of lampooning landrover owners , senility has caught up with me . Now wondering what will be the best combo i can put together with what ive bought to do the Canning stock route in July . The licensed landy has 202 blue motor but comes with the original diesel. Bought a spare with the ford 250 crossflow a recond box and fairy overdrive. Total spent $750 . My gut feeling is just to put the 2.25 diesle back in without the overdrive as i doubt that the diesle will have the power to operate the overdrive efficiently anyway . Not a 202 fan but it runs well so the other option is the 250 with the fairy . What do others think is the best combo and do the old diesels have enough power to be able to engage over drive without the foot being flat to the floor. Looking forward to communicating with others on the forum
