Default quick question about buying disco2

So I have a chance to trade a dirtbike for a disco2 in next few days. I don't know much about the disco2 except a few things.

1- check engine light is on.

2- makes noise by belts.

3- he says its a great reailable truck. He has another land rover & doesnt wanna pay insurance on 2 trucks.

Here is the craigslist ad.

http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/5018526872.html

I'm a decent dirtbike mechanic & do light repairs on my Subaru. I expect some work to be done but I'm just worried about overheating, engine & drivetrain problems. I know how to find used parts via eBay or junkyards so not too worried about spending a little cash on parts. Should I trade? Help!

not unless you are prepared to put about a grand into it the first year, there must be a reason he stopped driving it and bought another

1 - get the code(s) read to see what they are
2 - could be an idley pulley bearing failing

How much could you sell your bike for?
The pass side headlight looks like it is not sitting correctly. Maybe more than just the turn signal housing missing...
How many miles? Were the head gaskets ever done?
Look at the ft driveshaft to see if it has greasable universal joints. If not, plan on rebuilding the driveshaft or getting a new one ($300).

today I'm going to go test drive it, I'm going to try to keep the vehicle running as long as possible. I want to drive to add advance or autozone so they can plug in their computer and see what the code is. I'm expecting to spend a little bit of money on this truck hopefully not a thousand. I have my dirt bike listed for 1800. a bearing pulley doesn't seem too bad. this guy tells me that he has a Land Rover mechanic so I'm assuming it's had some good work done. any more advice is super appreciated

Unless you get a really really good deal .. its always better to buy "everyday" working .. the littlest bits and pieces cost the money .. do as you are about to ...test drive, turns , Off Road , Brake , Overheating , Shifting of gears , vibrations , fluid leaks , you know the stuff...

I'm a Sales Advisor for my company .. and i know all the tricks and sales pitches they come with , of course he has a mechanic !! , and every thing is a simple fix , he just did not have the time to do it !!... that's what you are seeing from the outside , can you guess what else is about to go wrong ..

So I test drove it. Its a 2000 & Has 167000 miles. Sounded like it has a very small quiet exhaust leak at headers or back of head gasket, maybe that's what he was thinking was the belts. Ran it for about 30 minutes, had it parked for abour 20 minutes running with no overheating but the a/c was running the whole time it was parked & running. Barely any rust underneath.no smoke & had power thru 4k rpms. Threw 4 codes
P0154
P0734
P0440
P1668

What does everybody think?

OK so I figured put the codes.

P0154 is most likely a front passenger 02 sensor?

P0734 is 4th gear ratio code, from the research I've read it seems like the 4th gear is overdrive & its controlled by the air/fuel mixture so it's the MAF sensor or air box?

P0440 is fuel pressure or gas cap?

P1668 is most likely alarm?

Am I right or wrong? seems like only throwing these codes is not too bad of a sign.

I'm not too worried about replacing the head gasket or intake gaskets because I've read that this engine is very similar to 1960 Buick block. I've even read about people who have norepair or maintenance experience doing the head gaskets or intake gaskets.

Should I pull the trigger & trade?
