Corona Virus
Oil prices drop, which is great, but then the price of purell goes thru the roof (good thing my LR uses Oil products). One other good thing out of all of this IMHO it took the heat off of the darn straw banning BS...
It's a bad situation, but EVERYTHING WRONG on the planet today worldwide is absolutely without a shadow of doubt 500% the POTUS fault....... or so I've been told time & time again... The media is a massive joke! Hell they can't even tell the truth about a frigging storm!!! Gotta make it out to be 200MPH winds, 10ft deep, but then in the background are people playing basketball apparently walking on water without their hair even blowing in the 200MPH winds.... I don't listen to a thing the media says anymore.
Be safe out there wash your hands regularly, and don't eat ant eaters!

I hate when people compare it to the more common flu strains, because the mortality rates are not even close. Using mortality numbers alone means nothing. The flu kills about 0.1% of those that get it. This thing is spreading at a rate almost worse than the flu and kills between 3 and 4%. This is why its a concern. By the time this is over we could easily be taking millions dead, tens of millions.
The data is not complete yet. We know everyone who died but we don't know everyone who has had the virus yet. I suspect the mortality rate is closer to that of regular flu but we are behind on testing and confirming those who carry and survive. Obviously plenty of folks out there comingled before they knew what they had.
Yes and no, not all flu cases are reported either. And like the flu someone with Covid19 can have the virus and not really get very sick. But as of this moment, all we have the data on hand so we cant really go by any suspicions - just the numbers but the flu data is fairly well established given its history.
Go trump go
Can't forget in 2001 that was during the time of the British Mad Cow disease. I was stationed again in England during that time.
I'm perfectly fine (though my wife says otherwise) but because I was in England during the Mad Cow scare, I can't give blood at all in the US until 2038.

You are absolutely correct Redwhitekat, Fear of the unknown is the worst medicine as much as BS baffles many brains. Stay safe though. Never read or watch the media as they love a drama.
It's the equivalent of listening to Consumer Reports & their review of a LR..... lol I don't think a single magazine besides 4 Wheel Drive Magazine ever liked or recommended a LR. Yet when I was young & dumb I went with the Consumer Reports review of the 2001 Nissan Xterra and that is still to date the only Lemon I've ever owned. Consumer Reports also totally destroyed the Isuzu Trooper II in the USA with it's crazy roll over BS... Then many many many years later it was confirmed the test driver was basically going lock to lock during the testing.... Isuzu basically went out of business overnight in the USA over that. My dad was actually ordering a 96 Trooper and the dealership had just called him earlier that day letting him know it had come in. Then that evening he saw the review and it rolling over. Isuzu called the next morning and begged my dad to buy it telling him they've never had those issues during their own testing. However they would knock off 12K off the price. Meaning he was only having to pay around 8-9k out the door for his totally custom ordered Trooper II. He cancelled his order and years later truly regretted doing so!
The death vs cases numbers are most likely not accurate as some people who get the virus can have such a mild case that it isn't reported. Also, those who have died are in the group of people who have other issues and getting the virus is sort of the straw that breaks the camels back. Old age, compromised immune system and such.
But it sure makes for a great news story doesn't it!!
