Externally mounted 20L Jerry Cans and the LAW
I need someone to chime in and provide some insight.
NOTE: I won't ask a bunch of questions about modifications that have already been answered with in the forum.
Although I have been a member of the forum for almost 2 years I have done little with my LR3 other than drive to the office, dog park, or road trips (less than 7 hours in length). Right now I planning on transitioning this LR3 to be a recreational vehicle rather than my daily commuter.
I'm taking a trip into Northern Quebec (54.4417° N, 70.5306° W, Brisay Generating station), into an area that range does not permit refuelling within 650 kms. My solution is to secure a 4 20L Jerry cans, those NATO type and secure them to the Slimline roof rack. My question, Will I get pulled over in the urban areas because I violate some law? Although the question is for Quebec I'm looking at some US expeditions, and other Canadian provinces as well.

Perhaps a phone call to the non-emergency number of police? It is a good question, but in fairness you frequently see construction, farm, boat, RV, and landscape trailers transport fuel cans in various quantities including diesel, gasoline, premix gas, and off road diesel.
