Default getting in gear

Okay so my '01 has died.. head gasket finally went.. So I pulled the brand new battery I had just put in it and returned it. Well now I need to move from where it is into the garage until I can part it out, sell it, donate it.. etc. How do I get it into neutral to push it.

Two ways : Put a battery in it, Or remover cover from gear shifter and remove solenoid that won't let it shift.
I would take a battery out of another vehicle and use it then put it back.

Should work fine. If you drive it in the engine RPM will probably search for a minute. If you push it in, put key in position 2 ( all dash lights on) step on brake and put it in neutral.
If the batt posts are different and don't line up properly just rig it to where it is just connected or touching )turn on key but don't try to start it. then foot on brake and neutral then push.
A battery charger hooked to the cables would probably work for pushing.

If you're parting it out anyway, remove the driveshafts & push it.
