Default Have questions on what to buy

I am looking to buy a Land Rover discovery and am choosing between 2. One is a 2003 with 150000 miles. One is a 1998 with 44,000 miles a brush guard and a top rack. They are both the same price. Is it better to be a newer model, or to have less miles.

The 98 has less electronics and is easier to work on, I would go that route

Need to see maintenance records, that 2003 is probly at head gasket time and is the year for bad block issues iirc

I guess your ability and intentions can be a factor, rust will be found under the carpets, make sure everything works and expect to spend money to bring all mantinance up to date

I've had both the D1 and D2. I've put more miles on my D2 than on any other of my trucks. I love it. However if I was just getting into Land Rovers I would pick up the 98. It's easier to learn on. Less gizmos. Rock the D1 for awhile and if you decide you'd like something a lttle more refined the consider the D2.
