How old is everyone?
26 and have always wanted. My buddy lent me his '02 for part of a summer and have loved it ever since. My wife bought me an '01 as a graduation present this feb.....I will never sell.

30. I had just come out of a bankruptcy due to medical bills and needed a cash car. I didn't know anything about Discos but found one I thought was a good deal, pulled the trigger, then wished I had done more studying and bought a different one. But I paid 2500 and got 3500 when I sold it so I can't gripe.

chronological age > waistline, too old and too fat. But I always get a laugh when boarding the aircraft and I peer into the cockpit; just checking to make sure the guy in the left seat has more gray hair than I do. Bought D1 for my 17 year old, figured I would not have to come pull her out of the ditch....

My first Rover was purchased new in November of 1993. It was not what I had initially intended on buying but it got me started.
In December of 1992 I was at Zumbach, the Rover dealer for NYC at the time. My friend has recently purchased a Lightstone Edition Range Rover and it was in getting serviced. I went with him to pick it up. On the dealership floor there was an NAS 110. While I was looking at it the saleswoman mentioned a soft top for the '94 MY and I was sold.
This was pre-internet days so I went home and called every dealer (all 37) in the states. The only one with detailed info was Land Rover World in Glen Cove, Long Island. I drove out there, saw photos and became the first person in the US to put money down on an Alpine White D90. That was December of 1992.
I waited and waited until finally in late October of 1993 I received the call that my truck was coming in sometime in early November. The only problem was that I had ordered a stripped down $27,999 Defender but the one that was coming in my name had A/C, alloys and a number of other expensive options. Out the door it was going to be over $36K.
I remember standing in the dealership looking at a 1994 Beluga Sable Edition RRC for $51K that they were willing to discount. My situation had changed somewhat between December of 1992 and November of 1993 and a RRC really was going to fit my needs better. So, in the end, I let the D90 go and bought a BSE RRC from Pepe Motors in White Plains, NY. That's what started it all. Since then, I've owned countless Classics and DI's plus I rebuilt a Series III from the ground up about 12 years ago.

Lived in England during my teens and worked in a shipyard. One of the local yard rats had a mid-seventies 109'. It was a POS and was pretty much falling apart but it always (...usually...) got him where he needed to be. One day I saw him hand crank the engine to start it and we struck up a conversation. From then I became fascinated with the simplicity and quirks of Land Rovers. Years later and Stateside I was owed some money by a guy who had a '66 he intended to restore. That intention lasted for about 6 years and he never did anything but start it and drive around the block a few times a year so I became its new owner and savior. Ever since I have enjoyed them as capable toys that get me from A to anywhere I have pointed the wheels.

32, have owned my '03 since September of '08. Got a stupid deal on it from Hennessy in Gwinnett. I currently have just shy of 140k on the clock, and it's still running strong. Going to change the diff fluid and t-case fluid in just a bit.
I have always wanted one of these, but thought they would be way out of my price range. I was looking for a 4x4, and was shopping around, looking at Wranglers and Cherokees, and then just for kicks started looking at Disco's, and found out I could actually afford one, so when I found the right one, I went for it.
