I had a lot of difficulties selling my car because of the inaccurate information that CARFAX provided. The report said that the vehicle had two owners, but actually I was the only person who owned this car. Moreover, they showed that the vehicle had been in two accidents, which isn't true either. It has only been in an accident once but still was drivable, and CARFAX described it as "Towed from scene" for some reason! Needless to say that these two facts devalued the car and it was really hard for me to sell it. CARFAX should be more responsible for the information it provides in their reports, instead of putting any information they want, which, apart from being incorrect, causes troubles for other people!

 

If it's the same as in the UK these jokers supposedly get their data from the confederation of insurance companies and if it's not available they "probably make it up" as they go along. These are often inaccurate thereby in so doing
being irresponsible.
