Is it me, or do Rovers have mood swings?
Sorry to post so much, just have a lot of questions lol...
My rover is having moods, some days it will hit 55 and have normal acceleration, other days she thinks she has a v12 and hits 65-70 with no problem.... I don't think it has to do with the ECM or the engine it self warming up or correctly balancing the fuel to air mixture. My dad has said his p38 does the same thing. just wanted to throw it out there.
Thanks collin

Perhaps using a scanner that reads live data would confirm your thought - the scanner can show lots of those parameters. However, just like texting while driving, it can be distracting. Might want a co-pilot.
Thank you.
You have an OBD1 operating system which can not be scanned except with some high end OBD1 scanners. Do you have a check engine light on, what octane gas are you burning, when was it last tuned along with wires and cap/rotor?
As you grow older you will "discover" that something precious with a female name is inherently "high maintenance" and always subject to rapid changes in mood. Does not matter if it a truck, plane, boat, or local cheerleader.
And Mike's right, you won't be finding a loaner real time scanner for OBD1 at the auto parts store - my bad. And many vehciles display quirks during the warm up phase.

Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it
