Default nice and clean or dented and dirty?

Hey all, just curious. I have a 2001 discovery 2 that has almost 300000km on it and has a fairly bad repair to the drivers door where a dent has been banged out, misc smaller dents and scratches all over. The paint has held up surprisingly well and the only rust is a couple of small dots starting on the roof about 6 inches above the windscreen. Now I am wondering, do I try to get this truck in better shape or go the other way and just beat on her from now until eternity.? Do you guys welcome dings and dents or rush to the shop to have them buffed and polished? Just curious as to what the average LR owner is doing? And hey if you have a picture of your beast put it up, for better or worse, I for one want to see if every ones rover is better then mine! cheers guys!

Mine has some serious battle scars. It's usually dirty. Usually. Occasionally I clean it up and do enjoy it clean. I've pondered getting the scrapes and scratches fixed but in the end I'd rather build it to be awesome and not worry about it. There is some sort of satisfaction pulling into a parking lot w the only Suv w dusty tires and dirty paint.

I drank profusely after the first... only one or two annoyed me, as they could have been avoided.. I enjoy looking at the virgin pics, but... I wouldn't trade the memories for a clean body back.

I never mollycoddle my trucks, generally, but keep them in reasonable shape, well, apart from the Pajero as that is my offroader and unfortunately bears some unintended scars

RRC I washed once when I first bought it. It's not perfect, but it's not totally beat. Cut fenders, some rust.

The D2 is nice. Really nice. Has some scuffs, maybe a few dings....but nothing I notice daily.

I personally like old trucks (though my ride isn't exactly very old, 2007 model), especially when i see owners really taking good care of them. It's your preference if you want a new ride. You can always address the rust issue. With good maintenance your truck will look sharp.
