Default Ultra Gauge Broken

Ive had this Ultra Gauge for less than 2 months and for a while it would only turn on when the vehicle was running, not when the battery was on like it should. Now it just goes insane when the vehicle is turned on. It always says "scanning for codes" and goes to the regular screen and just goes nuts showing random numbers and words and symbols. It never corrects itself and goes back to scanning randomly. Only thing done to the vehicle lately is getting some roof lights wired in, but it was fine for 2 days afteri had them. Think its the gauge or the what?

Try it on another OBDII equipped vehicle.

Yeah, then, try this:

UltraGauge Technical Support Help Desk

I thought mine was broken, too. Run through this FAQ and see if you can reset it. That's what I did and all is well now. Mine kept turning on, finding available gauges, turn off; then started all over.

It is only supposed to come on when the key is in the "II" position.
If it is not plugged in all the way it will say "scanning" and not show any data, mine did that once, it had wiggled loose.
Also if you unhook the cars battery it will need to re-scan.
Also do not let it sit in the hot sun all day while you are at work, unhook it from its mount and set it in the shade, I let mine hang under the dash while at work.

According to them, the upper operating temp range is 160 degrees Fahrenheit. But two months should be enough for them to replace it if it has failed. As has been suggested, check their website and reset it.

Glad to hear it! Enjoy. But don't get paranoid with information overload.

....too late! but its ok, i used to daily a turbo car, so paranoia of heat, oil, cooling, and rattles is already well established. however fear of traction, is no longer an issue
