Towing recommendations needed
I have a non-modified 64 Series IIA I need to tow apprx. 500 miles each way. The tow vehicle is a 2010 Jeep GC with a Hemi & factory tow package.
I was just going to rent a properly setup flatbed car trailer from U-Haul but my neighbor insists that I can use his 77" X 16' flatbed tandem axle trailer... but with no brakes or sway control!?!
I've only towed a pop-up camper and boat a few times (each one equipped w/ brakes), his free offer sounds like a bad idea? Is my generous neighbor correct or am I being overly cautious?
Thanks in advance for the advice!

Anti-sway isn't really needed if the trailer is balanced well. Brakes I'd want, and in many states would be required (some states would require them just for the trailer by itself)..
If the rear hubs are in good shape on the series you can disconnect the propshaft at the rear diff, wire it up securely and use a tow dolly.

I'd want brakes. Series IIa is allowed by uhaul, supposedly. It might depend on the weight of your tow vehicle though.
