88 range rover classic main relay buzz, intermittent no start
My 88 classic has developed a new issue. It starts fine in the morning but when I drive it a few miles then shut it off the main relay next to fuel pump relay just chatters and it will not start. This of course does not happen if I drive it all over hells half acre then back home, it only happens at gas stations and other absolutely inconvenient times.
After last nights 3rd flat bed trip home in a month I was able to catch it in malfuction mode and touched the white/gray wire on the fuel pump relay with my light tester on reverse polarity looking for a ground then it clicked and starts fine. Relays are new, Ive checked all the grounds and wiring and all the obvious. What am I missing? Ive never seen a relay act this way. Battery is new, is there another relay somewhere??
This has me to my wits end any help is appreciated.
3.5-13 cux.
Thanks for any help.
