Default 2012 Evoque 2.0 Engine swap

Hey all,

I am new here and have acquired a 2012 Evoque with a bad engine (knock on cylinder 4). It has the 2.0 turbo that I believe is the ford eco-boost engine. Do I need to buy an Evoque engine or will a w.o eco boost out of a 2011-2014 edge/escape/explorer work? I have searched all over and cannot find if there are any internal differences. I will swap over all the Evoque accessories and sensors and install a new turbo/manifold while I am at it. Thanks!

All, I have successfully swapped the engine with an edge 2.0 ford motor and am doing my second swap with a escape 2.0 ford motor

I just did a swap on our 2012 evoque using an engine from a 2013 ford escape. It wasn't too bad.
The following have to swapped over from the evoque engine to the Ford engine:
Oil pan
Timing cover
valve cover
all brackets/mounts

Things to be aware of:
The harmonic balancer has to be removed and swapped over but it doesn't have a keyway and requires a special tool kit to line back up properly. You could likely lock each engines crank in place with a home made crank pin from the kit and just mark the balancer and sensor locations and then just line them back up, I learned this after swapping the balancer

The turbo system is different. You will have to get a new turbo v-band with weld on flanges and make a custom adapter or get the downpipe from the ford and join it to the evoque exhaust
