Default 04 RR L322 Engine help

Ok guys I need some help, been a member here for a while and this forum has been so much help with our 03 Disco II.
That being said, the wife bought an 04 Range Rover HSE from one of her customers and all we know is that it wont start and had to towed into the shop (a European car specialist) the shop says it needs an engine! The truck is "cherry" and we need an engine, Where can I get a rebuilt engine? halp me!! (I haven't even seen it much less put a scanner on it)

Sorry for the late reply but needs an engine sounds ridiculous.

Does the engine turn over, or is it completely silent, when you turn the key? If it's silent, you might want to check the ignition switch, which I'm pretty sure is the same as the one I have in my '06 HSE. I had the same M62TUB44 engine in my '01 BMW 740iL...it's a pretty bulletproof engine, if it's properly maintained. You didn't say how many miles are on it but, since it's an '04, I imagine it's probably over 100,000. If you don't know its service history, I would replace all of the serviceable items on it. This webpage has a pretty good list of things to look for: https://bmwtuning.co/bmw-m62-engine-problems/ If it turns out that the VANOS or the timing chain guides failed then, yeah, your engine is toast. This site is a pretty good place to start, when it comes to engines and parts: https://www.bmw-all-parts.com/

Hope that helps you.
