Default 04 disco engine number

Hello:

I am considering purchasing a used 2004 Disco. The engine was replaced. So I want to confirm the correct engine was put in. The used car dealership says this:

the number is either KM20ME0856 or RM20ME0856 or XM20ME0856. The dealership could not confirm the first letter.

Do I call the Land Rover Dealership to confirm which engine this is?

Thank you!

There was only one option, so it's probably the correct one. Does it run? If so, good to go.

You can swap a 4.0 for a 4.6, and vice versa.
But either works fine.

Not sure other than cross referencing the block numbers. My understanding is that the 4.0 and the 4.6 share the same block but get the .6 displacement from a different crank / rods.

Not sure either, but I think that's right.
