2010 s/c undriveable after suspension repair. P0501
A few months ago I did a timing and valve job on my 2010 s/c and everything was peachy for about a month. Then I got a suspension fault - leaky bag. I changed both front air struts and since then I can’t leave my road. I have a GAP tool and the recurring code is p0501. I can clear the code and get across my driveway and then I lose my gears, but the conditions of it happening seem to change every time.
I am not sure how many wrong trees I’ve been barking up with this because I don’t understand BUS issues.
At first I suspected damaged wheel speed sensors from the strut job but all four wheels read out fine on live data. (I took them out and cleaned everything up anyway.)
I did find though, that live data isn’t getting a readout on current gear or shaft output speed. Now I’m wondering - could I have popped something loose having the car on jacks? And could that even throw a 501? Or should I keep chasing wires and sensors? I’m getting worried about the prospect of digging into the transmission when potentially unnecessary.
Please guide me like a small child.
Thank you!
